Route Map

This easy-going cycle tour begins in Guangzhou, located in southwestern China in Guangdong province about 2 hours from Hong Kong by train. This tour is intended for those with little or no cycle-touring experience and will utilize vehicle transport to access some of the more remote areas where we can then cycle and explore at a leisurely pace.

We will visit an area known as "Little Guilin," which is famous for the karst landscape (limestone hill formations jutting up from an otherwise level ground and the subject of countless traditional Chinese paintings).

It is best to arrive in Guangzhou in the morning, when we will transfer to a support vehicle and drive about three hours to Tianxin where we will begin cycling to the village of Jiulong. After settling in the hotel we will then explore some of the surrounding area.

On the following days we will cycle on relatively quiet country roads among the karst limestone hills and explore the small villages and towns along the way. Accommodations will be in simple but clean local hotels.
